There's a push in South Miami to split Florida into two states, an effort that would put much of the Tampa Bay area in a 51st state. It would mean large cities like Tampa, St. Petersburg and Orlando would sit in a new state call South Florida.

That's the opinion of several experts who spoke Friday before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in Orlando, Florida.
