Florida environmentalists say they were forced to go to voters to get permanent funding for land and water protection because legislators neglected the need for too many years. But now - even though Amendment 1 passed with 75 percent of the vote - the Legislature will get the last word.

A newly renovated park is officially open and is the ultimate playground for dogs, but the work there is not finished as the city has much more planned for the park. TURNED OVER TO THE DOD WHICH IS GOING TO DISPOSE OF THE DEVICE.

The company that now feeds passengers at two of the four airsides of Orlando International Airport may lose its contract even though it would pay $2 million more than the firm that was picked for the job. Areas USA, which has had the contract for seven years, is appealing the decision of an airport committee that ranked it second to SSP America.

An unattended bag found at Orlando International Airport forced a bomb-squad check and while the bag turned out to be harmless it disrupted activities enough to delay departures of at least nine flights Sunday evening. The bag was inspected by the Orlando Fire Department Bomb squad shortly after it was reported, at 4:59 p.m. Officials shut down the east side baggage claim area at the airport's A Terminal to the public for about two hours.
