The federal government has delivered a largely positive evaluation of a $2.5 billion private project to build an express passenger train between Miami and Orlando that, according to company estimates, could have a ridership of 3.5 million by 2019. A required Draft Environmental Impact Statement issued Friday by the Federal Railroad Administration says that overall the All Aboard Florida project would have minimal impacts on the environment including air quality, water resources, wetlands and protected species.

Good news, passenger rail advocates: You may be able to hitch a ride on SunRail into Orlando International Airport by 2020. The Florida Department of Transportation has put $5 million toward studying a planned 5.5-mile expansion of the $1.3 billion Central Florida SunRail commuter rail from just north of Phase 2's Meadow Woods station in Orange County directly into the airport.

ORLANDO, Fla.- School districts in Atlanta and Orlando are vying for the largest education award given to U.S. school districts. Officials will announce Monday whether the $1 million Broad Prize for Urban Education goes to Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia or Orange County Public Schools in Florida.

There is a small coterie of Midwest finesse anglers who constantly keep an eye on all of the finesse goings on in Japan, and these anglers recently said they are intrigued by Imakatsu's Dread Hog. It caught their eyes when it was displayed at the recent International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades show in Orlando, Florida.
