The Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office has determined that a fire on Tuesday that destroyed an abandoned house in Leesburg was caused by arson, county officials said in a statement. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries in the blaze, which caused $280,000 in damage, according to the fire marshal.

The Loudoun County Department of Animal Services is seeking information regarding the identity of a woman who may have information regarding the possible abandonment of a cat in a parking lot in Sterling. Animal Services received a complaint on Wednesday afternoon from the Walmart at 45415 Dulles Crossing Plaza, near the Dulles Town Center, regarding an abandoned cat.

Authorities are investigating allegations of sexual abuse at a Loudoun County church which has previously been criticized for its financial practices and its control over members' lives. No charges have been filed against anyone associated with Calvary Temple in Sterling.
