A masked bank robber held up a teller at the WashingtonFirst Bank at Cedar Lake Plaza in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, the suspect entered the bank.

The four-year-old Wine Tourism Conference is expected to bring approximately 200 tourism and wine industry officials to the Lansdowne Resort and Conference Center in November of next year, according to Gov. Terry McAuliffe and Visit Loudoun, the county's tourism arm. Bringing the conference to Loudoun County will require "monetary and in-kind investments" from Visit Loudoun, the Virginia Tourism Corp., and the Virginia Wine Board's marketing office.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow in Loudoun County from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. "Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous," according to the NWS statement.

The first storm of the season appears ready to dump inches of snow in Loudoun County - and we haven't made it to Thanksgiving! The Virginia Department of Transportation to ready to use several mound-moving, de-icing, snow-melting tools. But more cash is not in the tool belt.
