Orange County teachers have inked a deal with their school district to hold teachers harmless on the first round of Florida's new standardized tests, reports the Orlando Sentinel's Leslie Postal. The move essentially skirts the goal of Florida's 2011 merit pay law, which said teacher quality should be judged in part by student academic growth, as measured by tests.

The company that now feeds passengers at two of the four airsides of Orlando International Airport may lose its contract even though it would pay $2 million more than the firm that was picked for the job. A newly renovated park is officially open and is the ultimate playground for dogs, but the work there is not finished as the city has much more planned for the park. TURNED OVER TO THE DOD WHICH IS GOING TO DISPOSE OF THE DEVICE.
