The Defense Department ordered 100,000 “military-style body bags for potential civilian use.” According to Gizmodo, COVID-19 spread to all 50 U.S. states and four U.S. territories. FDA Calls for Zantac to Be Pulled From Market The FDA is instructing that all prescription and over-the-counter ranitidine drugs, known by brand name Zantac, are pulled from the market immediately. Over the counter Zantac is used to treat acid reflux and heartburn. An ongoing investigation has determined that contaminant levels in these heartburn medications increase over time. When stored at higher-than-normal temperatures, these contaminants pose a risk to public health. The contaminant, N-nitrosodimethylamine or NDMA, is the probable human carcinogen that the FDA has been investigating since 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the FDA advises against returning medicine to a drug take-back location and suggests following disposal instructions on the medication guide instead.

Juul Gets Hit With Lawsuit From The Federal Trade…

The Federal Trade Commission announced its suing e-cigarette manufacturer Juul for breaking antitrust law. The lawsuit comes after Juul sold a big chunk of its company to tobacco company Altria Group. According to Gizmodo, Juul sold 35 percent of themselves for $12.8 billion to Altria. Altria used to be in direct competition with Juul but agreed to not compete in return for some ownership in Juul. The deal allowed Altria to appoint an observer to Juul’s Board of Directors and appoint three members to the board.
