Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are clearing out of Buckingham Palace. The couple are closing their office in the Queen's main London residence and laying off their 15-member staff as they withdraw from royal life, CNN reports.
Staffers including private secretary Fiona Mcilwham, communications chief Sara Latham, and assistant communications secretary Marnie Gaffney were notified in January, per People, which describes efforts to find new roles for some employees.
The couple are currently living in Canada but attended a private JPMorgan event in Florida last week. On Tuesday, they visited Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., where they were greeted by President Marc Tessier-Lavigne.
Today reports they held a discussion with professors and academics designed to help them establish their new charitable foundation. While the goals of the foundation are still unclear, Markle, a Northwestern University graduate, made access to education one of her key causes as a royal, per People.
