Lindsey Graham Answers James Comey With a Warning

Newser — Newser Editors

When the summary of the Mueller report came out Sunday, former FBI chief James Comey had a three-word response. "So many questions," he tweeted. Then GOP Sen.

Lindsey Graham had a response to Comey that was nearly as short. "Could not agree more," he wrote. "See you soon." The implication is that Graham wants to question Comey again in the Senate, reports Axios, apparently over investigations the FBI conducted into four Trump associates: Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, and Carter Page.

When the Hill asked Graham to clarify his tweet, the senator's office referenced a letter Graham wrote to Attorney General William Barr questioning the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant that had been issued to investigate Page, a former Trump adviser.

Republican critics have denounced that warrant as an abuse of power, noting that part of its justification was the infamous Steele dossier. (Read more reaction and analysis to the Mueller summary.)
