Beat The Heat! Stay Cool Now

With the temperature being exceptionally hot these days, we’re all looking for ways to beat that summer heat. We’ve got a list of summer must-have items to keep you and your family cool this summer.

  • DIY Air Conditioner

All you have to do is freeze a few water bottles, which in this heat, you probably already have lying around. Then place a floor fan, or desk fan, in front of them.

You’ll enjoy a much cooler breeze with your new DIY air conditioner, without paying the high electricity bills of running the air conditioner all summer long.

  • Chill Your Mattress

Ever find it hard to sleep on those scorching hot days, even with the air conditioner on? Now there’s a way to help your budget and cool you off so you can get to sleep faster.

All you have to do is chill your mattress. I’m serious. Here’s how to do it.

Buy some soft-gel ice packs , or gel cold compress packs, and put them on top of your mattress, but underneath your sheets. It’s really that simple.

  • Cook Smart

Any appliance that generates heat inside your home isn’t one you want to be using.  An oven turned on can raise your heat by 10 degrees and add to those already mounting cooling costs.

Why not grill outdoors with this new Char-Broil Gas Grill? If you’re looking for something a little more portable then go with this Weber Portable Grill. And you’ll want to keep your barbecue clean this summer, as well as have all the tools you need at your disposal, with this barbecue grilling set.

  • Squirt Yourself

This is great for people and pets. I have three birds and we do this all the time for them. All you need is a couple spray bottles — one per person should be good — which you want to keep in the refrigerator. When you’re feeling hot, give yourself a few squirts for cool your body temperature. Start by spraying your wrists to quickly cool down the blood flowing through your veins.  Why not let the kids have fun with theirs and decorate them with some stickers? You’ll have a craft and a cooling station!

  • Keep Cool In Cotton

Cotton is great for the summer because we tend to sweat a lot and cotton fabric actually absorbs the sweat, helping your body to cool down. It also provides better air circulation than many other materials. Why not try this adorable t-shirt loose fitting tunic dress? Or these Russell Athletic Men’s Essential Cotton t-shirts, which come in a variety of unique colors?
