Classic Grilled Cheese Recipe

  • 4 slices of soft white bread
  • Butter, softened
  • 2 slices of cheddar or American cheese
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat. Butter one side of a slice of bread. Place the bread butter-side-down onto the skillet and add 1 slice of cheese on the unbuttered side. Butter a second slice of bread on one side and place the unbuttered side on top of the sandwich. Grill until lightly browned and then flip over to the other buttered side to do the same, about 3 to 5 minutes. . Continue grilling until cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining 2 slices of bread, butter, and the last slice of cheese.

Spicy Hawaiian Grilled Cheese

  1. Replace the cheddar or American cheese with pepper jack cheese. Then, add thinly sliced pineapple, deli ham, pickled jalapeño slices to the Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe.

Bacon and Tomato Grilled Cheese

  1. Follow the Classic Grilled Cheese Recipe above but add 2 slices of crispy bacon and 1 slice of tomato into the sandwich.

Grilled Cheese Fingers

  1. Follow the Classic Grilled Cheese Recipe above. Cut the sandwich into strips. Cut off the crust, if desired.

Donut Grilled Cheese

  1. Replace the white bread with a Classic Donut. Then, follow the Classic Grilled Cheese Recipe above.

Nutella and Raspberry Dessert Grilled Cheese

  • 4 slices of raisin or raisin bread
  • Butter, softened
  • Nutella spread
  • Raspberry jam
  • 2 slices white American cheese
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Spread the chocolate hazelnut spread onto the unbuttered side of 2 slices of bread. Add a light layer of raspberry jam. Top that with a slice of cheese. Then put the remaining slices of bread on top of the sandwich. 
  2. Cook the sandwiches in covered skillets, about 3 to 5 minutes. Grill until the bread is lightly browned and then flip over to the other buttered side to do the same. Continue grilling until cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Nutella and Banana Grilled Cheese

  • 4 slices of challah or brioche bread
  • Butter, softened
  • Nutella spread
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Bananas, sliced thinly
  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Spread the Nutella onto two slices of bread and spread the other with ricotta. Add some sliced bananas onto the Nutella layer. Sandwich the Nutella and ricotta slices together. Grill until the bread is lightly browned and then flip over to the other buttered side to do the same, about 3 to 5 minutes.
